JC Subject Combination Advisor
Choosing your A-Level subjects? Pick your likely direction and where your strengths lie, and we’ll suggest common, broadly-applicable H2/H1 combinations to discuss with your school.
Subject offerings and combination rules vary by junior college, and MOE requires at least one contrasting subject (science students take an arts H1, and arts students take a maths/science H1). This is general guidance — always confirm what your chosen JC actually offers.

How JC subject combinations work
Most Singapore JC students offer 3 H2 + 1 H1 content subjects, plus compulsory H1 General Paper, Project Work and Mother Tongue. At least one subject must contrast with the others — so science students take an arts H1 (often Economics), and arts students take H1 Mathematics.
